Could Bali be the next Boracay? Now that the Philippine government has shut down Boracay, high profile celebrities and travelers/spenders are looking at different holiday destinations for lollygagging in warm weather and sexy bikinis.
Where else can they flaunt their barely-covered butt cheeks while sipping cocktails for an Instagram-worthy pose?
Only 4 hours plane ride from the busy streets of Manila, Bali, the “Island of the Gods” has become a favorite destination for “It” girls and celebrities looking for a quick getaway or to celebrate milestones in their fabulous lives.
Even Hollywood A-listers such as John Legend and Christy Teigan were found in full-on Balinese costumes with their cute daughter, Luna, back in 2017. Internationally-renowned DJs such as Martin Garrix recently played in the day club Omnia Bali, snorkeling in Padang Bai (east of Bali) aboard the 40-meter luxury yacht. Charli XCX, Disclosure, Carl Cox, Marshmello, and a slew of celebrities and artists from all over the world are just flying in for some island fun.
And why not? Bali has a good mix of party and nature—south side Bali is more for travelers who would like to have crazy, drunken nights out and lazy days on sunbeds while enjoying Bali’s different beaches.
Product launches like Magnum has Manila’s A-listers such as Maggie Wilson, KC Del Rosario and Laureen Uy flying into the island of Bali… Why? Simple—Bali is THE go-to destination right now. There’s festivals and neighboring party islands to go crazy or to enjoy nature’s beauty.
Just look at these 5 Filipino celebrities livin’ it up in Bali’s nature and party inspired atmosphere.
Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes
Seems like the matinee idol turned Philippine super couple has found Bali as their go-to holiday destination for the past years. (Yes, it may be back in 2016, but the point is they keep coming back).
The couple first made way to the tropical island of Bali in 2013 before they even got married. The couple decided to celebrate Marian’s 29th birthday in Bali back when both were still doing solo primetime teleseryes and at the height of their careers.

According to an article by PEP.ph (https://www.pep.ph/news/40016/marian-rivera-relates-bali-vacation-with-boyfriend-dingdong-dantes ) Marian describes Bali as a ‘cultural’ place, “At ang maganda sa Bali, kultura kasi siya. Lakad lang, kain, cellphone (And it’s nice in Bali, because it’s culture. [You] just walk, [use your] cellphone)”
Another trip to Bali followed almost 5 years later, when the picture-perfect royal family spent another holiday in Bali, now with their little girl Zia (short for Letizia—cute name!) tagging along. Sarah Lahbati and Richard Gutierrez
Another Philippine showbiz couple were seen on the waves of Bali are Sarah Lahbati and Richard Gutierrez. With their son Zion, the family maintained their Instagram with holiday photos that captures the beauty of the Bali backdrop.
Ruffa Gutierrez and her daughters
Just last April during Easter Break, the beauty-queen-turned-actress-turned-mother-of-two went on a trip to south of Bali’s best locations with her two daughters. Documented on her 1.2 M following Instagram, Ruffa was seen in Uluwatu, southwest of Bali, in places like The Edge and Alila Villas, and Bali’s current happening day club, Omnia.
She also went eastside with her daughters, spending some time in Ubud’s Hanging Gardens and the famous gigantic swing, two well-known tourist spots in the area. Surely, she connected with Mother Nature amidst all the people visiting the area.
Pia Wurtzbach
Pia’s body is absolutely to-die-for and she found the perfect place to flaunt her perfect bod—Instagram! (And Bali, of course!). Her most recent trip to Bali was in November 2017 with her equally hot boyfriend, Marlon Stockinger.
They stayed in the west side of the island in Jimbaran, famous for its fresh seafood and beachside dining.
Before her 2017 trip, Pia previously flew to Bali in 2016, just weeks after her reign as Miss Universe 2015. That’s a traditional Balinese costume signifying

Isabelle Daza and her ‘squad’
Last from this list is one of the ‘It’ girls who celebrated her bachelorette in Bali. A model and daughter of Miss Universe Gloria Diaz, Isabelle Daza seems to have everything, including a handsome husband, good genes, and a new baby!
Together with her close friends and family, she celebrated the last few days of singlehood in Bali. Isabelle’s sister Ava, her cousin and Georgina Wilson’s sister, Jess Wilson, actresses Solenn Heussaff and Carla Humphries, Raymond Gutierrez, Nicole Anderson, model and entrepreneur Bea Soriano, and Martine Cajucom.
#BELLEchorette was featured in the show E! Entertainment, ‘It’ Girls, following the life of high profile celebrities who experience growth, friendship, and fame all together.
Interestingly, there has been a dramatic increase of Filipino visitors in Bali in the past year (30% increase according to Bali Discovery Tours’ Jack Daniels [yes that’s his name]). Definitely, more Filipinos are coming to Bali, it’s not that far—both in distance and aesthetic.
If you’re looking for a place that has both serenity, party, nature, and culture all in one place—that’s Bali. It’s where you can go wild at night and chill in the afternoons. Not bad, huh?
